2010
I was asked to design an exhibition space in Cheng de road, and initially I wanted to develop the idea of branching tree as I saw that those trees have a specific tilt and that they differ gradually. Done with the first tree, multiplied, equalized, and or randomly arranged horizontally, this technique will create a space amidst the lined branches. A number of unique geometric shapes, which are different one another will be created. The geometric distortion pattern resulting from the use 3 cm bamboos will produce a new architecture, which will compete with the natural trees. From interior side, this distorted geometry has transformed into a fragment destroying the boxed, monotonous apartment around the site, and lifeless local geometric shapes. These bamboo fragments will also give the urban landscape around a color. Reflecting pond is the medium to create tranquility and reflect the newness of the trees and the building alike.Credits:Project Title: Pure Shi Shi Lin Exhibition SpaceClient: Pure – Qun Real Estate Advertising Co.,LtdLocation: Chengde Road , Taipei, Taiwan, ROCDesign Stage: BuiltDesign Phase: May - Sep 2009Status: CommissionedConstruction Phase: Sep 2009 - Mar 2010Architect: Budi PradonoArchitect Firm: Budi Pradono ArchitectsProject Architect in Chief: Budi PradonoArchitect Assistants: Anton Suryono, Yuli Sri Hartanto,Adhi Wibowo, Ardyan FernandoHutagaol, Rina Nur AisyahAssistant Architects Support: Primaldi PermanaModel Maker: Daryanto, Anggie Radik PrihantoStructure Engineering: Suhartoyo, PT.
