The Planned Parenthood Federation's Gulf Coast arm commissioned Williams Architects to design an 8,000 square foot full-service medical office building in the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana. The project features a welcome center, exam & procedure rooms, areas for consulting with nurses & doctors, & a spacious recovery area.
Due to opposition intimidation tactics, federal & municipal litigation surrounding regulations, & divisive political atmosphere, the design & construction team fought for over five years to complete the project. The building of this health center marks the beginning of a new chapter in Planned Parenthood providing affordable healthcare for some of the most underserved areas of the country.
