This is a patisserie built in Kyoto. In the roof of the shopspace of the one-storied part, the image of the roof covered with grass is pursued. The site is the east and the south corner lot where two faced the road.In the east side facade facing the main street, a sashless simple bay window is located in the curved outer wall of cedar, and through it, the warm atmosphere of the inside is oozed out to cityscape. In the southern facade having a big wall surface, windows of rhythmical white glass block are designed as a background of the parking space. They are designed as the image of the window of the square as the icon of the window of the model-like house and mediate two functional elements of a store and the house. The cylinder of the corner part which two facades come across is an entrance.
It is located as a important factor to tighten the end of the southern facade, and the same time it also emphasizes the image of the curved surface wall of the east side.
In the inside of the shop, the wooden beams made of the laminated lumber as the main structure are appeared.
In that space, we can feel two atmosphere, which is both powerful and casual.
The individual design elements of this architecture are seen like the decorative and a stereotype design as patisserie, but while using material and the form that it is easy to get close to, they are designed carefully as the modern architecture.
