This is a small sushi shop located in an area lined with many long established restaurants in Tokyo. It required one large kitchen and a counter for 8 people, as well as a small vestibule by the entrance, though the space was very limited. A parallelogram plan was adopted to make use of those factors. The vestibule, using black walls of burnt cedar, is designed to be a dark space to brighten up the guest room. The guest room consists of matching colors and textures with some natural materials. This very small sushi shop is a dense space with unusual brightness by means of a delicate operation of color and texture in harmony in the parallelogram.
