The concept
for our proposal for the Changing the Face of Pushkinsky Cinema Competition is
the dematerialization of a painting by Piet Mondrian named “Red, yellow and
blue composition” drawing, from orthogonal lines that delimit the color within
the painting, a game of colors and geometric shapes throughout the facade. The
structure is supported laterally on the building limits and reaches to the
existing balcony, creating a new skin.
The new
staircase in white concrete differs from the existing one by being more narrow
and long, with less inclination, maintaining the connection with the existing square
in front of the cinema. This square prolongs itself until the cinema by the
removal of the street underneath the main staircase, to emphasize the link
between the Pushkinsky Cinema Hall and the Pushkin Square.
