YEAR
2010
A 1,400sf laboratory renovation in a 1970's SOM building on the campus of MIT. The space needed to be flexible and open, allowing for group study and projects - including robotics competitions. The existing space had private offices at all the windows, so our first move was to remove these offices and create an open floor plan with sufficient natural lighting, and dramatic views of the MIT Dome and Boston Skyline.Group study and brainstorming areas were created by wrapping existing columns in chalkboard and forbo pin-up boards.
