Meraviglioso® is a dreamlike place, where memories of Italian-ness mix with culinary tradition.
The quality and candour of the ‘50s and ‘60s take the leading role of this surreal scene, where the actors portray the quintessential of “speaking italian”: the art of gesticulation. The collage was chosen to evoke the italian mood.
Meraviglioso® is new because it didn't exist before. Meraviglioso® is traditional because it re-interprets that which has been culturally consolidated.
Meraviglioso® is a concept, designed to adapt to the features of the different spaces where it will be hosted. The concept indeed consists in a complete remake of the machineries and an upgrade of the kitchen, bar and pizzeria forniture. The exhibit handbook defines the restyling principles, starting from a chromatic neutralization of the spaces and adding custom forniture and installations to characterize the interiors.
The counter covers and the desks are made of plywood, with patterns inspired by ‘50s and ‘60s italian tablecloths printed on them. The GG lamps, made of bronzed metal sheets by BT saldature craftsmen with digital fabrication tecniques, visually lower the ceiling. The installations decorate the walls with graphic collages designed with Beppe Conti, on the theme of gesticulation.
The concept wants to be very flexible and easy to realize; what already exists and works well is kept, considering that it’s not always necessary to design everything.
