The Leatop Plaza Tower is light, transparent and energy efficient. The tower resembles in form an ice crystal emerging from the ground through a landscaped anti-grid that deviates from Cartesian grid–an urbanism of the organic. The structural system envisioned for Leatop Plaza combines structural steel composite construction with a unique tube-like bracing geometry to create a safe, effective system which integrates seamlessly with the building’s architecture.Leatop Plaza offers centralized control of different building services systems including public lighting, fire alarm, sprinkler, plumbing and drainage, central air-conditioning system, etc. to save energy and management resources. The lighting is controlled by zones. Interactivity with tenant’s on-line management system has been incorporated. One of the main objectives was to reduce operating costs for heating, cooling, and ventilation by taking advantage of natural energy. The innovative High Performance Façade (triple glazed, low-e coated, fritted and shingled) in combination with, daylight sensors and the automated shading system maximizes the use of daylight and transparency (90% of the users have a visual connection to the outside). Leatop Plaza has been awarded LEED Gold Certification.Leatop Plaza is pure, modern, simple, transparent, luminous, light, open, proud, white, green and balanced. It is an example in which good design can translate into better life. From the ground floor to the top the present feelings of comfort, joy, delight and even bliss. Through the careful selection and use of materials, resources and technology are a proof that design can promote well-being and elevate our minds and spirits. Leatop Plaza uses less, wastes less, strives for happiness and productivity through beauty, technology and simplicity.Credits:Helmut Jahn - ArchitectFrancisco Gonzalez-Pulido - ArchitectMichael Li - Architect
