The brand ‘La Fruteria’ stands out with its unique concept, a ‘Boutique of Fruits’. The store was launched in April 2014 in the magnificent neighbourhood of Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro. The integration of architecture and branding was a key objective from the beginning of the planning stage.
The architecture of the store is designed to support the perception of premium products offer, such as high quality fruits, juices and processed meals, without undermining a rustic and cosy atmosphere which are common in European grocery stores. In order to achieve this we have chosen to use natural materials such as solid brick, pine woods and tiles of unequal shapes. In terms of colours, we opted for green and dark shades.
The rusticity of the materials works very well in conjunction with the high quality finish and the fine and delicate details applied to the design of the store. The location of every single fruit and veg box was planned in order to match with all other materials, creating a harmonic atmosphere.
The use of wide dark surfaces was deliberate to highlight fruits and other products within the store. Close attention was also paid to the lighting to outline finer elements and to complement the layout of the store.
With a size of slightly over 376 square feet, the store was designed to sell and display natural fruits, as well as processed and frozen premium products. Further to that a counter serves for waiting costumer wanting to have a coffee and there is also a toilet for clients and staff.
By use of a ladder staff can access the upper floor. This is where the office is located and the stock is held in a warehouse. With limited space, every inch had to be used to the greatest extent to satisfy customers’ needs in the best and most efficient way.
