The Kent Mansion apartment was designed to fit the wishes and need of a French-Hong Kong couple, which expected a European type apartment with big and bright spaces in a very typical Hong Kong building. The challenge was to integrate an open-kitchen, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a generous living ROOM and large amount of storage in a 900sqf layout restricted by a winding facade and numbers of structural beams. The choice was made to turn down all the original partition walls and to reorganize the entire layout around a central open kitchen. The materials such as teak wood were chosen in accordance to the traditional Chinese furniture the couple collected during their time in Asia yet a contemporary touch like Corian and concrete mosaic enhances a contemporary atmosphere.
