A house for two ladies in their 60's. Two have worked together as a social worker for decades in Tokyo and have decided to move to the rural district of Shizuoka.
The house consists of 5 huts. Each hut has its own proportion matching each program. The bedroom is just big enough to have 2 beds with low ceiling creating a cocoon like space. The ceiling of the dining room is at 8m creating a sublime space. It is a space where they greet new people from the local community and welcome their old friends from the city.
The guest room is equipped with a wheelchair accessible bath where they can accompany their parents and also their disabled guests.
The house sits on top of the mountain ridge where the top had been leveled by the previous owner. The roofline of the huts is to recall the previous ridgeline.
