The project is the result of a vision of the changes that are taking place in the world of football. The revision and extension of existing legislation on safety of sports facilities (Standard CONI, DM March 1996 February 2003 DL, MD June 2005 - Package Pisanu, DL February 2007, MD in August 2007, DM 2005) and Regulation of CONI (Rules of the stadiums in Serie B Lega Pro and Amateur League), the privatization of the plants and the growing deficit situation of the Italian stadiums (lack of facilities, inefficiency 's security system, high operating costs in the lower leagues), have led this research project towards a possible solution: "Modular Stage."
The research has been addressed with regard to the design of a type of stage, surrounded by current critical studies, such as flexibility in the use and functionality, regulatory compliance, safety, efficiency and speed of cost and time of realization and the propensity to the issue of "sustainability", to be developed in an environmentally friendly and energy saving.
Particular attention was paid to the design of a field or form "from the technological point of view, that is capable and trigger the process of industrialization and prefabrication act to speed construction.
The steps in the research phase were mainly three:
- A first phase of analysis, aimed at studying and research of the type of football stadiums, not only in the Italian but also in Europe and worldwide, with associated functional characteristics such as plant layout, escape routes, the parking areas and visitor flow to the fans, etc.
- A second project phase, which took shape in every aspect of the modular stage, with emphasis on technology such as capacity, thanks to the modularity of subsequent changes in the rapid and flexible capacity to adapt to the fluctuations of the team in their respective tournaments (extension and narrowing the stands, installation and full coverage, dining, etc.).
- A third application stage, where this type of stage has been included in an existing urban context (interchange Rail-Tram, line-Foggia Lucera), to meet the needs of a team's third series (Pro League): 's U.S. Foggia, in order to verify the usability of the system.
