HYAD is a non-profit society formed to provide sustainable housing for families with young adults with developmental disabilities.
To help the group achieve their goals, we responded with a design for a comfortable, and community-oriented 3-storey wood framed structure.
Outdoor landscaping will define living areas off the kitchen and communal rooms and include garden plots for the residents. The project will reuse wood from the school that used to be on the site, and incorporate overhangs, high performance glazing, low flow fixtures and connect to the Lonsdale Energy Corporation (LEC).
