The project started with 5 simple requests from the client.
A living room from where they can see and feel the view of full of greenery in front of the house, separating public lower floor and private upper floor clearly, a largish bathroom with a nice view, an unusual space in where they can enjoy drinking at night, and characteristic rooms with its own colorings.
So, we arranged those factors not only independently one by one but also functionally each other, centered the living room with beautiful angled ceilings.
The client wanted to have a gable roof first, but we suggested not to have the shape with warmth far above but closer to their everyday life.
Guests come into the dark gallery like entrance hall with a high expectation, and walk into the bright living room. This quite closed entrance space bears the seismic force and enables to have the wide opening in the living space.
The kitchen has a half hight pantry space beside, and it produces intermediate floors above such as a tatami-matted Japanese room with bamboo tree view and a loft space for the kid's room.
The bathroom and the balcony are finished with the same material to feel as a big single space, and opened to the direction of town at the bottom of the hill.
They can enjoy both the diurnal mountain view and the night view of the town from there.
