Good Hotel Amsterdam is a floating social pop-up hotel moored on the IJ. It will stay there for one year while training unemployed Amsterdammers to find a job in hospitality industry, before moving to its permanent location in London. Good Hotel Amsterdam, which was totally re-purposed from a former detention center into a beautiful 144 room hotel.
Every room has a specific guest in mind. This central double bed layout is designed for young creative couples, the twin for friends and the wall-to-wall bed for business travelers. We put a lot of effort in designing the best cabinet for our guests. The open frame keeps the room spacious while providing sufficient storage space and the integrated 'bowl' helps you to never loose your keys again. We mixed custom-made design with items sourced from HEMA and IKEA. The artwork secretly shows housekeeping which room type it is and the rooms numbers are custom-made from stainless steel. One of our favorite details are the laser etched oak door hangers. The corridors are black to create a quite atmosphere with gallery-like splashes of art. When you enter the transition from dark to light makes the small rooms feel more spacious.
Good Hotel Amsterdam received the REBELS award (greatest innovation/disruption) and was nominated for Entree Magazine hotel concept award.
