Gensler, the leading global design firm, unveils its new creative workplace of the future in Downtown Denver. Located at 1225 17th Street, Gensler has created an innovation hub that presents a vibrant new perspective on creative, collaborative and innovative workspaces.
Gensler’s team of designers collectively embraced the challenge to celebrate the firm’s collaborative culture of innovation. At 23,000 square feet, the new Gensler office covers two floors and features a variety of environments designed to promote connectivity, choice of work environment and well-being for 90 people.
“From the outset, our goal was to create the best place to work in Denver,” said Jon Gambrill, principal and managing director at Gensler Denver. “Our entire office was fully engaged in the design process. This new space sets the new standard in Denver for a creative, collaborative work environment, enhancing our ability to innovate and deliver outstanding service to our clients.”

A direct link to the Downtown Denver community
Gensler strategically selected a ground level retail space to enhance connection to the Denver community.
The street level entry from Lawrence Street leads to the lobby, featuring a striking stadium staircase designed for maximum connectivity and to host public and private events.
A coffee bar and café seating flanks the stair and provides additional opportunity for interaction and casual work zones.
The mid-level mezzanine -the Design Lounge - connects the lobby to the workplace and serves as a highly public collaboration zone. It features state of the art technology and a variety of choices for working, ranging from lounge seating to standing height tables and pinup walls.

Defining a high performance workplace

A range of space types and experiences provide a sense of creativity, connectedness, authenticity and innovation, allowing employees to full engage in their environment.
The design team maximized the amount of flexible shared space to accommodate the needs to high-performing project teams.

Throughout the space, the design strategy promotes well-being through ergonomics, acoustics, air quality and interaction with nature.
Some of the key features include sustainable LED lighting with motion sensors, low emitting materials, energy and water saving equipment and interior plantscaping.
Every Gensler employee has a laptop with wireless connectivity enabling individuals to work and collaborate literally anywhere, indoors and outdoors.
Some of the work location options include the ground level coffee bar, the materials design studio, private booths, numerous standing height free address areas, as well as direct access to a plaza and outdoor green space on the exterior patio.
As part of the firm’s commitment to sustainability, Gensler’s Denver office is pursuing LEED certification.
This year marks Gensler’s 50th anniversary and the Denver office is celebrating its 42nd year with a range of events in the new space this year including business panels, community events and learning programs.
