Renovation and additions to the existing auditorium will revitalize and expand the visual and performing arts departments. A new glass atrium provides a distinct new entry and lobby. A new control room floating in the atrium, combined with new theater-style sloped seating will provide capacity for the entire Upper School and improve the capabilities of the venue for performing arts. The ceiling of the main auditorium will be removed to expose the steel truss work and dynamically enrich the interior space, while also providing the ability to more finely tune the acoustic needs of varied performances. New audio-visual, mechanical, and lighting systems, in combination with the new control room and scene shop, will greatly improve the backstage support. Renovations to other parts of the building will provide the Fine Arts programs with larger and more dedicated classrooms for 2D and 3D art, photography, and digital production. A new gallery will allow both student and guest work to be prominently displayed.
