New construction – 8,500 SF of interior amenities space. Scope: Interior & architectural design of the common areas – residential lobby/concierge; seating areas (forum + Turkish tea house); leasing office & support room; social/clubroom; game room; fitness center; library; bathrooms & lockers; corridors & unit entries.
Our concept was to be eclectic, bohemian almost. We wanted to insert the works of local artists, some unknown but quite excellent. We kept the interior architectural lines very clean, simple and white and went wild on furnishings. Dashes of unexpected wittiness are everywhere. We created a Turkish tea house, complete with antique Russian samovars, over-dyed antique Turkish rugs and traditionally inspired large mid-eastern tiles. We mixed fabric patterns, colors and create a patchwork. We played off the sculptures and large accessories and introduced our flock of life-size sheep (black, white, even a baby). They are in the lobby, courtyard and roof terrace. They are named Fennie and everyone adopted them. The building has been a success from day one. Residents treasure all these unexpected details.
