A small (30 sq. m.) functional flat designed according to the confluence of earth tones and a Scandinavian style. Most of the materials used in the project are biodegradable, recycled or upcycled. A set of space saving furniture is an important part of the design – a folding bed or table that provide many opportunities for the arrangement. By providing elements such as sliding mirrors or a skylight (to illuminate a dark bathroom when the bed in the other room is folded) one can create optical illusion of a larger space. Some of the furniture is made of cardboard, paper, cork, pallets, jars, buckets, old trunks and branches. They are an excellent example of using natural materials in a configuration of relatively low costs. Energy is being saved by using LED lightning, water flow regulators and reducing electrical equipment to a minimum. Apart from its aesthetic value, the vertical garden has a huge impact on human psyche and health – it keeps the dirt away and moisturizes and ionizes the air.
