october 23rd 2pm-6pm“playground” requires and invites
users to get involved with the structure. It invites touching and
feeling. The sensory playground is not finished unless someone is
interacting with it, unless hands and elbows are penetrating the
membrane and forming new shapes within the possibilities of the flexible
joints and walls. With smells in different nooks of the place one must
be there to experience this memory inducing sensory journey.
The translucent fabric transports one into a new place, where the
imagination is refreshed and free to set off new trajectories as
inspired by the world unfolding in fabric, in touching and smelling.By
programming this iteration as THE COCOON PLAYGROUND people have less of
an aversion to experiment and more of an open mind to investigate
their true feelings and reactions to it as opposed to referring to it
as “art.”
the knowledge that others are in it, but seeing and feeling them as
pieces to a whole, rather than “another person” unless one connects
with a face and then, the whole transportable sense of a brand new
place, and seeing the glow of the light through the color of the
fabric. The nature of the cocoon playground is to serve as an experiment in materiality and structure.press
