City Romance Complex is based in the romantic idea associated with foreign cultures – specifically countries or regions – and is the manifestation of its particularity in the urban space. The complex is integrated in an area with a strong design, adopting a distinguished and rigid structure under the concentric design, organized around a sturdy axial system.
The strong geometry is considered in this proposal as a determinant element and, at the same time, generator of the urban proposal. The origin of the urban space in its various expressions is based on five key elements, the balance of which will depend on its character, as well as its quality and sustainability:
- Grid / Block - Buildings - Roads and Pathways / Squares - Green spaces - Water
The City Romance project was conceived from an innovative and ambitious concept. To bring to the center of Astana, in an environment of excellence, remote cultures reflected in the architecture, design of gardens and outdoor spaces, constituting a diverse and surprising complex, a landmark in the city of Astana and a reference in the quality of life that will be provided to its residents and visitors.
City Romance has an extremely central location within the city of Astana and taking advantage of excellent accessibilities, the intervention area of the "City Romance” can be considered a unique location for the implementation of the concept. The diversity of architectural environments and approaches is associated with different geographical and cultural areas, unified by a solid and well-organized urban structure, based on a hierarchical and efficient road network.
- Main Axis – Symmetric Axis of the plan, strong and symbolic statement, running across the central area of the intervention, from the Park to the Cultural Centre and outdoor amphitheater, establishing the line view with the tower of KEGOK. Designated as central area, it is equipped with commercial, leisure and cultural facilities. - Central Avenue – Structuring concentric axis of wide section and urban characteristics, marked with central aligned greenery. - Green Avenue – Transitional axis from the block/quarter area to the large park area with a “Boulevard” character. - Axial Routes – Radial structured axis towards the large park, facilitating traffic flow and creating very significant visual alignments.
