The concept was to deliver a lighting solution befitting a luxury landmark whilst at all costs avoiding any dilution, obstruction and/or interference with the spectacular panoramic view. The idea was to create a space simultaneously relaxing and refined yet also uber avant-garde.

The soft delineation of the stylish white furniture was complemented with a bold backlit bar counter to generate both a chilled atmosphere ideal for sunset drinks and a progressive vibe the likes of which the city has become renowned for. The flexible overall ambience is juxtaposed with a second, more functional layer of lighting composed of projectors illuminating the overhead canopy. The intention was to create an array of color-changing lighting delivering saturated color reflected onto the space below. In parallel and at the DJ’s discretion, selected architectural elements shift colours at the pulse of the music so as to convert the space into a multi-sensory experience; one truly reflective of Dubai’s sophisticated and cosmopolitan nature.

Whilst energy conservation was not a directly mandated client requirement, the situation was ideal to combine the advantages of LED’s in terms of delivering a multi-faceted and multi-layered lighting scheme alongside a sustainability justification for the relatively significant investment in lighting supply. When combined with an intelligent DALI control strategy, our lighting solution provides numerous backdrops within one single venue to support a multitude of possible activities throughout a single evening. Furthermore, our lighting scheme empowers the DJ in his management of the lighting experience as a primary means of keeping guests constantly stimulated.
