Blue Sky Hospitality was given total creative control over the project by its
forward-thinking investors who have enjoyed since the opening of CHINAR
unprecedented levels of positive feedback and returns.
Following our holistic brand development process, we created a meta-narrative
for CHINAR to include comprehensive elements of customer psychographics, local
heritage, regional culture and global lifestyle trends.
Blue Sky Hospitality then developed the brand narrative into an aesthetic
language with specific channels of physical delivery for the benefits of staff
and customers, articulating together IDENTITY, FORM and FUNCTION.
For
CHINAR, we have created a multi-sensorial environment that connects all the
touch points of the guest journey through a variety of distinctive rituals;
from the website design to the cloakroom merchandise, from the tea ceremony to
the signature duck service, from cocktail presentations to late night DJ sets.
Blue Sky Hospitality used a cinematic approach to develop a lighting scheme
rich in colour and contrast, using the latest technology as well as some
proprietary innovations. One such innovation includes a multi-media art
installation for the main staircase to act as an experiential hub connecting
the two dining floors: a combination of bespoke light fittings, experimental 3D
mapping techniques and theatrical engineering turn a simple set of steps into a
liquid gold cascade mixed with glowing embers and billowing smoke effects.
Our scope covered the whole project, including detailed lighting
specifications, technical drawings, commissioning and pre-opening training as
well as full-scale film production for several hours of original content used
as projections and special effects to entertain guests and increase revenues.
