The project was assigned to the Architect Alberto Cesana of Milan and developed in cooperation with Studio Corelli in Milan for the lighting. The outcome has been a concept aiming to design the branch of a bank within a shopping centre; a new space, a kind of igloo in which the light from the outside would filter and radiate creating a sequence of bright changing settings but at the same time reassuring; passing from the Concept to building was quick and straightforward. As soon as we submitted to CheBanca! a rendering of the outline of the project rendered we got a positive response from them . Mr Cesana immediately talked to Mr.Corelli (the two have been working together for years) and, after identifying the right technology, the whole process from concept to construction took 3 months:a successful undertaking resulting in the creation of a totally new concept of space within which we experience a feeling of wonder taking us back to our childhood, just like the first visits to the planetarium, just like a place where the sky and the seasons seem to follow one another, a place where you seem to pass, almost subconsciously, from a warm sunset mood to one of a stimulating morning breeze, without the din and the typical frenzy of today. You are magically drawn to a place you haven’t visited before; once inside you feel like a new “Gulliver”, a new “Alice” who can finally go to a bank without actually having to go there… you are already there for shopping; and when you leave you realize you’ve been to a bank and you have done your transactions but you still feel that magical sensation!This was all possible thank to Traxon Technologies system control and to the use of Boards RGB, once again by Traxon Traxon is a branch of the Osram group which employs a technology allowing moving messages and color spots to be flashed on the wall in a dynamic way;all this in an environment where the igloo effect is amplified by the walls made of panels by DuPontTM Corian® Illumination Series Glacier Ice “matt” effect which makes both communication and lighting of the space quieter and calmer.
