Completed
in 2010, the Business Valet Parking Deck at Charlotte-Douglas International
Airport is a multi-level parking deck with 3,200 spaces, convenient for
business customers commuting to and from the airport from Uptown Charlotte or
the neighboring outer belt. Vertical vehicular circulation between levels is accessed by helical ramps at each end of the deck which serve to highlight and organize ascending and descending movement.  The deck is partially screened in perforated metal panels on all sides which diffuse light while providing natural ventilation for its occupants.A 6,000 square-foot glass-enclosed amenities area
contains the Business Valet Services, a coffee shop, and remote check-in kiosks
for passenger convenience. The site was planned to accommodate future parking
decks with a people mover system within its central spine, connecting the
city’s light rail system to the main passenger terminal.
