LEVENBETTS is an award winning New York City based architecture practice. The office was founded by David Leven and Stella Betts in 1997 and focuses on all scales of projects including urban design, public buildings, houses and housing, commercial workspaces, exhibitions and furniture. The office employs a variety of people and methods to arrive at innovative solutions that are the result of observation, research, integration of building systems and an economic understanding of each project goals.
Our talented multi-skilled staff and consultants collaborate in the
process of making architecture that runs from an intense analysis of
programming, research of building systems, design of environments and finally to on-site construction administration. This process also
ensures that the work remains open to external expertise and good ideas. The resultant design work is inherently social, necessarily
sustainable and devoted to the public’s experience of the building.
LEVENBETTS work has been recognized nationally and internationally through awards, exhibitions and publications. The office has won New York City AIA awards, most notably for its urban design and housing proposal entitled PhX caseXcase: Cactus Flower Housing as well as for a competition submission for the addition to the Asplund Public Library in Stockholm, Sweden and for a parking garage project called Chicago Filter Park which is part of a larger ongoing study that applies new sustainable transportation solutions and green park systems to aging infrastructures.
