This new two-story, 220,000 sf Armed Forces Reserve Center, houses nine units of the Oregon National Guard’s 41st Infantry Brigade and eight units of the U.S. Army Reserve. The facility includes administrative and meeting spaces, family welfare, recruiting, classrooms, unit storage, physical fitness areas, band practice facilities, an auditorium, assembly hall and kitchen facilities. While staying under budget, BBL Architects and the Design-Build Team surpassed the Oregon Military Department's LEED Silver goal and designed this building to achieve LEED Gold. By focusing on energy conservation measures, Camp Withycombe uses 26.6% less energy than the LEED baseline levels, dramatically reducing energy costs for OMD over the life of the building.
