Camp Thunderbird is a 100-acre property on Lake Wylie in South Carolina. The site was established in the 1930s by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte and serves over 400 campers during the summer as well as school groups and retreat groups during the school season.
The Master Plan was completed in November 2012 and has focused on several challenges including reorganization and realignment of the circulation system throughout camp, replacement of most of the camper housing, enhancement, remodeling and expansion of facility and land based program activities and development of a new health center.
