On this remote property along the California Coast a close knit family has created a refuge based on the principals of sthapatya veda. The main residence, the guest house and a barn for get-togethers have been completed while three studios remain to be commenced.
This will afford all family members a place to retreat for work and meditation and also enjoy each other’s company for meals, music, games and festivities.
The compound was originally conceived off the grid with a large solar array but has since been connected to the grid. PV power covers most of the electrical demand, supplemented by propane gas. All utilities, including the 10,000-gallon water storage tanks were installed underground in an effort not to clutter this pristine plot of land with its ancient Indian sites and spectacular ocean views.
