BayCare
Health System’s new corporate office campus will consist of two
150,000-square-foot, three-story office buildings master planned and built in
two phases. The new campus consolidates all of BayCare’s corporate employees
into a single location and serve as the main site for medical-personnel
training.
Gresham Smith’s
design implements thoughtful solutions to improve building performance and user
comfort while adhering to a tight budget. The building materials, which include
panelized structural components and a concrete exterior façade, are part of an
economical system that also supports long-term cost savings. The pragmatic
application of vertical shading devices responds to varying solar intensities
and exposures by shielding the sun where necessary. Horizontal screens both
provide shade and reflect light into the open office areas. Such strategies
result in a building that is over 60% more efficient that average building
stock in the Tampa area.
The striking architecture embodies BayCare’s
smart, progressive and reliable personality. It sets the company apart with a
memorable aesthetic and employee-friendly features while also conveying fiscal
restraint and responsibility. Gresham Smith’s design solutions reflect the evolution
of BayCare’s brand toward a vibrant community-health-focused institution rooted
in its core values: respect, dignity and integrity.
