The Guggenheim Left/Right
The Museum major public space is defined by the rotonda. This absense of
matter surrounded by the ramping gallery creates a central void that
calls for attention from the first step the the very last one. When
going up, one have to decide between looking to the right (exhibitions)
or to the left and feel seriously attracted to this central void.
This empty matter or void is an incredible spectacle in itself. How to
release artwork from that?
aVoiDed Museum: Exhibition 2.0
By blinding the Left side of the ramping rotonda and not allowing the
view of the central void the museum duplicates its exhibition surface.
Twice as much artworks can be showed and this sloping tunnel becomes a
fully focused art gallery. The end of the tunnel releases the visitor to
the wonderful Guggenheim skilight. By Empty out the Museum experience
from the Void spectacle, art is freed from architectural dominion.
Full Experience Hall
By blinding the balconies of the sloping ramp the central void becomes a
cylinder hall that also duplicates its performing experience.
The most significant void in architecture of the XX century being
removed from the museum and recovering its full identity as an
spectacular architectural experience.
