TTV
Architects, Inc. with Terra Design Studios, a Pittsburgh Landscape
Architectural firm, collaborated on the design of the new Asian Bamboo Garden
located in the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens.
The
Garden is a reflection of rural Asia as a whole and does not represent any
particular Asian Country. The design was accomplished with input from the
local Jacksonville Asian American Alliance.
This
is one of the very few Pan-Asian themed gardens in the Southeast region of the
US. It embraces the cultures of the entire Asian-American community in
Jacksonville while becoming a community resource for people of all backgrounds.
The
softscape and hardscape blend well together to provide an Asian natural harmony.
The gardens provide beautiful colors throughout the year. Large koi fish swim
happily in the dark moss filled pond. Graceful bamboo lines the walking path.
TTV
took part in the overall planning of the garden and was particularly
responsible for the Open Pavilion and Bridge.
