This apartment remodel came from the client´s desire and likings from the New York lofts style, and those wide open spaces, integrating the living room, kitchen, and office. In this old Higienopolis apartment, located near the center of São Paulo, we try to use and show the materials original to that place. Showing the original bricks on walls and cleaning the original wooden floor made from Peroba-Rosa, wood that today is under protection from extinction. To Minimize the impact and use as a archtectural proposal we left all the lightining and eletrical tubes apparent, enhancing the overall industrial feel. Walls finished with light concrete also borught to this place the rustic touch. Also we "upgraded" the plan of the apartment for the client, who didnt needed the 3 bedrooms, which we kept one as a guest room and the master bedroom that got an expansion from the removal of the maid's bedroom and so, extending the main closet and bathroom, and the 3rd transformed into the client's home office.
