adidas AG is one of the most famous sporting goods manufacturers
worldwide. Herzogenaurauch, a Frankonian town, is home of its
headquarters, where adidas "Laces", the largest company building so
far, has been built. The building's name not only makes reference to
the sportive background of the company, but also to the connecting
walkways of its atrium. This interior space forms the communicative
centerpiece of the building. Temme Obermeier
created the roofing of the atrium by designing five cushion areas with
82 individual components in total. The atrium's highlight: Each unit
has its own geometry defined by the supporting steel arches and the
edge girders.
