This house is built on slightly inclined ground prepared for housing in Sapporo, Japan (in the northern part of the country).
To avoid overlooking the other houses located on higher ground, this house has few windows facing the outside and, instead, courtyards have been placed inside the perimeter to let natural sunlight come into each room, allowing for brightness without concern for the outer surroundings.
Making the best use of the site, taking care of privacy, and receiving the sunlight effectively — combining these three considerations, the ideal shape of the house was a triangle.
