The interior renovation of this film production facility required the
transformation of two original bow-truss warehouse buildings built in
the 1940s with limited open passage between them. We were charged to
create a collaborative work environment with administrative and
technical wings that include offices, workshops, editing rooms, an
equipment cage and long sight lines for camera staging. Our solution
maintained an open center with a circular conference room as the vortex
of the environment. This common room, straddling the central dividing
wall, propels into motion a series of ripples whose trajectories
penetrate the wall and diminish the separation between the sides while
establishing auxiliary spaces for informal gathering.
