Project Objective:
To create 150 Revit Families of anti-corrosion drainage products with all product information & detail for Facility Management.

Challenges:
1: All products had to be developed from scratch in Revit
2: File size had to be kept minimum while modeling accurate product geometry
3: BIM objects had to be developed in a standardized format in order to maintain product integrity as per Autodesk Seek Standard.
Engineering Solution:
The project required development of Revit BIM families with fully functioning products for anti-corrosion drainage product manufacturer.
1: The work started with thorough examination of PDF files provided by client
2: 2D representations were created, from input provided. Identity and engineering data, to create different Family Types for various sizes & properties was added.
3: Models for plumbing products like Floor, Roof Drain and Floor Sink with highly accurate geometry were created and content was added in a standardized format as per Autodesk Seek Standard
4: Quality check was done at each level and 150 BIM Revit families of anti-corrosion drainage products were handed over to the client.
Benefits:
1: Quality Revit content is easy to use, as it functions reliably in a range of projects and project phases.
2: The manufactured content was made available in a format appropriate for architecture and engineering documentation deliverables.
3: BIM Revit family creation for plumbing products hence made these products part of the new standard, and made them likely to be used across projects with BIM based processes – particularly for facility management.
