Turett Collaborative Architects is known for a certain kind of innovative design, one that isn’t gratuitous or random, but is deeply thoughtful and responsive. The firm promotes an industrial sensibility without the harsh edge that often accompanies minimalism, and its work genuinely explores the frontiers where technology, materials and a new sense of form can, and do, intersect. The commonality throughout it is in the reasoning, and rationality, of each design. TCA’s work is often characterized by the innovative use of natural and industrial materials. As technology has evolved, new materials have allowed us to create previously-unbuildable forms; our interest in the plastic qualities of built space finds us exploring, expanding, and discovering ways to make ordinary materials shine in a new context.
As the firm’s name makes clear, Turett Collaborative Architects views client participation as integral to the direction and development of each project. TCA staff incorporates the principles of collaboration throughout the process of design and building – with both clients and with vendors and services -- resulting in completed projects that are functional and responsive to our clients’ goals. Founded in 1991 by Wayne Turett, TCA is a multi-disciplinary office including architecture and interior design, graphics, custom product and furniture design. The portfolio is also broadly based and includes commercial, residential, retail, restaurant and corporate interior work. Projects may be new construction, renovations, additions, or modernizations, including historic properties. Turett and TCA have been honored for exceptional work over the past two decades, receiving:
