plusofficearchitects is a Brussels based designteam in architecture, urbanism and landscape. We specialize in resolving problems you did not even know. We like to explore the limits of an assignment and always focus on what is possible. plusofficearchitects was founded by Nathan Ooms and Ward Verbakel following their winning competition entry for 30 serviceflats in Lommel, 2006. Six years later, plus office architects has grown into a design practice of nine employees and a remarkably diverse portfolio with an emphasis on public buildings and urban design. As ambitious designers, we combine the disciplines of architecture, urban planning and landscape design. We seek an investigative approach to design, every project is an opportunity for us to re-examine and question existing notions of architecture, public space and natural systems. plusofficearchitects were selected by the Flemish Architecture Institute for their young architects program with their project Hertogloges in Lommel. Our project for Fenchurch production facilities in Shuzhou was recently published in "Belgian Architecture Belgium Beyond" A + Editions. As the winner of the open call procedure plusoffice just completed the fine arts academy of Lokeren, and is designing the library of Niel and school expansion PiusX (scholen van morgen). Additionally plusoffice is starting construction of Brussels first passive library in Sint-Pieters-Woluwe (E-bib), a center for child welfare in Wervik and 6 schools as part of the DBFM procedure. From sketch to implementation, we are also familiar to take into account the special client constraints, sustainability standards and the context of public procurement.
