NOMA* is a architecture, public realm and interiors practice based in Perth, Western Australia. The practice was established by Simon Venturi in 2012 after twelve years experience working for leading architectural practices within the design, detailing, administration and delivery of large commercial projects. Simon now leads a small team working on a diverse range of innovative small to medium size public, commercial, retail and multi-residential projects delivering quality built outcomes. NOMA* was recently recognised with a Commendation for its Standby Espresso project in the 2016 AIA WA Architecture Awards, Small Project Architecture category.
NOMA* collaborates with contractors, craftsman and artists from diverse fields providing exposure to new ideas and approaches allowing us to maintain a continual process of re-generation. We acknowledge the importance of public space within our urban fabric as an opportunity to establish not only liveable but engaging and inspirational shared environments. Our built environment and public realm are formed through the interaction of complex social, political, economic and environmental forces. We also value individual architectural responses in their ability to engage and activate communities whilst also performing specific commercial and residential functions. NOMA* have recently completed a series of adaptive re-use projects transforming existing redundant or under-utilised spaces and structures for new use. We often look to incorporate salvaged found objects allowing us to generate unique outcomes reflecting local history, people and places.
NOMA* is registered with the Architects Board of Western Australia as well as being an A+ member of the Australian Institute of Architects and maintains Professional Indemnity Insurance with Planned Cover [Vero]. We provide a personal service, value ongoing relationships, view every project and budget as a challenge requiring a thoughtful solution. Client as well as stakeholder consultation and collaboration maintains a central role within our process. We undertake small to medium sized public, commercial, retail and multi-residential projects working closely with a network of experienced consultants and contractors to deliver viable, functional, innovative, sustainable and socially engaging outcomes.
