A kilogram is something physical. It actually refers to the weight of some matter. It is constantly reminding us that what we are doing, transforming the human experience and urban environment, has a real physical implication. Design is rooted in conceptual thought - the play between the physical manifestation and our conceptual design is what makes us tick. A kilogram refers to an absolute. In our work this is a constant reminder of the many scales which we impact. Evaluating our work on shifting scales is a central tenet of our design philosophy.
