Enrico Iascone Architects was founded in 2001 by Enrico Iascone and Carlotta Menarini. Based in Bologna, we design buildings on various scales specializing in sustainable technologies and integration with rural landscapes. Our approach combines contemporary architecture and experimentation with training that enables our team to respond to the demands of any design. While we work with the traditional tools of CAD, graphic design and photographic software, we make special use of the models we produce in our own design area.We also collaborate with a range of experienced technical specialists in planning and coordinating every aspect which contributes to optimization of the finished design. The time and professionalism which we devote to each phase and technical detail of project design enable us to ensure quality of architecture as well as control over energy saving and we give these aspects the highest priority while always remaining within budget. These principles have brought us extensive recognition which is impressive for a small firm such as ours. We were among the winners at the Rizoma Biennial Architecture Exhibition and our designs have been featured in numerous publications. Our various designs with wood structured buildings over the last few years also confirm our approach, allowing us to extend our knowledge and expertise without ever compromising on our innovative and contemporary designs. We have employed this technology in the construction of two villas and a student residence, and a prototype for low cost, energy efficient social housing is currently in its final stages of design. We are now developing larger scale projects, furthering our commitment to green energy with designs for the 'skin' of a biomass power station and the first ever factory for the production of bioplastics from beetroot waste products, which was recently exhibited at the 150th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy in the Future Station at the Grandi Riparazioni venue in Turin.
