Since 2001 Piet Eckert and Wim Eckert continuously engage in themes of urban planning and questions of urbanity within the frame of national and international competitions. Piet Eckert and Wim Eckert have won more than 45 competitions to date and have been awarded numerous international prizes.
Several built projects testify these credentials throughout the public and private domain of architecture, among them: The Böll Foundation in Berlin, the School Campus Moos in Rüschlikon, the Auditorium and
Library in Stäfa, the mixed-used building Europaallee, the High-rise Escher-Terrassen Zürich, the Residental Building Escher-Park, the Deaconry Bethanien in Zurich-Altstetten and most recently: the taz neubau in Berlin, the publishing house for the taz newspaper.
Piet Eckert and Wim Eckert were chosen to lead the urban and landscape planning work for the Hebebrandquartier which is one of the largest inter-city development projects in Hamburg. Further they won several masterplanning work in Switzerland such as the redevelopment of the Escher-Wyss Industrial Areal in Zürich West as well as the new Stöcklin Plan near Basel.
Currently under construction are: the School Hofacker in Zurich, the Geistlich Apartment Building in Schlieren. Further they plan the new Water Police at the lake of Zürich and the FHNW Hochschule für Wirtschaft Dreispitz in Basel.
