At last, the Galaxy SOHO in Beijing is ready for its big debut! Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the complex is scheduled to open October 27 with a string of events centered around creativity. The curvilinear facility is intended to become an integral part of the bustling city center, containing a mixed program of retail, offices, and entertainment.
"Liquid geometries" coalesce to create an immersive, futuristic experience in the heart of Beijing. Blob-like volumes are linked by a series of winding bridges, while fluid outdoor spaces connect with the dense surroundings. The architects consider the scheme a reinvention of a classical Chinese courtyard.
