As we've been reporting this week, Portuguese native son Eduardo Souto de Moura was just awarded the 2011 Pritzker Prize.
In honor of the honor -- as someone pointed out, the Pritzker is the Nobel prize of architecture -- we've rounded up ten gorgeous projects built in Portugal. This, of course, is but the tip of the iceberg (see here for the entire archive). Some common traits? Lots of concrete, shaped from the rational to the organic; low, rectilinear volumes that don't compete with the landscape; and structures situated just so on sites to capitalize on the region's natural beauty.
