You don't always have to build a tree house to sit among the branches and leaves. Spanish firm Selgas Cano has constructed its very own glass office on a forest floor, giving each employee a view of the outdoors while providing natural light and insulation during the work day. Photographer Iwan Baan has captured the essence of this woodsy workplace with an impressive collection of images. And, without a cubicle in sight, the long, open structure looks like the most serene office ever.
The tube-shaped office capsule includes a transparent wall that curves up to the ceiling, where those inside can either watch wildlife scurry by or gaze at the wind-blown branches above. Half of the structure is submerged underground, creating strong walls and a subtle presence among the landscape, similar to a military bunker. Stone steps from a path outside lead down into the building, which is naturally lit during the work day.
We're not sure where you would grab a coffee or lunch around this office, but the breathtaking views and the connection with nature sure are inspiring.
