The A+ Award-winning firm of Oppenheim Architecture + Design continues to impress with an ambitious concept for 1,600,000 square feet of mixed-use space on the far west side of Manhattan. The development, 514 Eleventh Avenue, lies near Hudson Yards — the site of an incredibly ambitious redevelopment, that, once complete, will represent the largest private real estate development in the history of the United States. Bonus: 514 Eleventh Avenue will also be proximate to the beautiful High Line park.
The renderings of this jaw-dropping 21st-century triumphal arch have been captured in the following must-see video:
Two 60-story, 600-foot-tall towers will create 1,350 residential units (totaling about 1,000,000 square feet), as well as 175 units of office space (totaling 175,000 square feet). Set right next to the Hudson River, these units promise some enviable views.
The development has something to offer pedestrians on the street, too. Five stories of retail will open up 180,000 square feet to the outside, as well as residents and employees in the towers. The base of the building will feature a lush, green facade.
Oppenheim's design will be replacing an old Mercedes Benz dealership. The development is being considered by the local Community Board, according to Curbed.
